Make Tracks in Whitewood 5K

The Make Tracks in Whitewood 5K returns to the scenic town of Whitewood on October 18, 2026. This beloved race has been a staple since its inception in 2013 and now marks its debut as part of the Black Hills Runners Club Road Series. The course offers runners a mix of terrain with several hills that provide both challenge and scenic beauty, especially during the vibrant fall season.
Participants will enjoy crisp autumn air and colorful foliage along their route through Whitewood's picturesque landscapes. After crossing the finish line, runners can refuel at our breakfast burrito station, offering warm and hearty options to start off a chilly morning right.
The race awards ceremony is known for its unique prizes given out to first-, second-, and third-place winners in each age/gender division, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event's competitive spirit. For those with little ones eager to join the fun, kids under 12 can participate at no cost.
Race day also features a commemorative shirt option for runners who want to take home a memento from this memorable race experience in Whitewood.
