The warm Gulf Stream current ensures that the sea water remains temperate, averaging around 22°C during the summer months and cooling slightly to 18°C in winter. Participants begin their journey by being dropped off at Ponta de São Lourenço, a breathtaking coastal point that is one of Madeira's major attractions.
