Machete Muertos 200

Embark on the ultimate endurance challenge at Machete Trail Madness, where runners push their limits and connect with a vibrant community. Since 2014, this ultramarathon series has celebrated perseverance through grueling courses that test both body and mind. The highlight is the Dia De Los Muertos Ultramarathon, an event steeped in tradition on October 27, 2027, where runners tackle Lake Perris trails for a week of community bonding and personal triumph.
The legendary Machete Muertos 200-mile race stands out with its relentless technical terrain and staggering elevation gain. With only 12 finishers in the first two years, this event demands preparation and mental fortitude. Yet, it’s not just about pushing limits; it's a celebration of culture, camaraderie, and unwavering spirit.
Runners can opt for various distances: 10 miles to 200 miles, each loop offering scenic views and technical challenges. The course is designed in loops that return to the start/finish area, allowing runners to interact with fellow participants, receive support from family camping on-site, and refuel at aid stations equipped with essential nutrition.
Aid station highlights include hot chicken broth, vegetable soup, fresh fruits, and hearty snacks like quesadillas and eggs. Crews play a vital role in this race, setting up camp for the week to cheer runners through long nights and challenging days. The event also offers free camping, professional photos at no extra cost, and top-quality participant shirts.
