Linie1629 Ultramarathon

For runners eager to explore the realm beyond marathon distances, the Linie1629 Ultra 50k offers an unparalleled blend of history and running pleasure. Set against the backdrop of Vught's Kasteel Maurick on June 5th, 2027, this unique event is tailored for seasoned marathoners looking to take their first steps into ultramarathons or those aiming to improve upon their personal best times.
The race kicks off at 8:00 AM sharp from the historic castle grounds. Participants can start picking up their bib numbers and dropping off their gear as early as 7:00 AM, with a crucial briefing scheduled for 7:45 AM. The route follows the scenic Linie1629 cycling path, which is flat and paved but not entirely traffic-free, so runners should proceed at their own risk.
The course features four water stations along its 50k stretch, providing ample opportunities to hydrate and fuel up during this challenging yet rewarding journey. Runners are encouraged to bring a drop bag with personal nutrition halfway through the route for added convenience.
What sets Linie1629 Ultra apart is not just its flat and well-marked path but also the rich historical significance of the area, which will be celebrating its 400th anniversary in 2029. This makes each step on this historic route a journey through time as much as it is an athletic endeavor.
Participants should note that while the event offers intimate camaraderie among runners and enthusiasts, there are no medical support stations along the way, so bringing a mobile phone for emergencies is essential. Runners must also be aware of the 6-hour cutoff, ensuring they finish by 2:00 PM on race day.
To ensure readiness for this special occasion, organizers will provide GPX files days before the event to help runners familiarize themselves with any potential traffic or detours along their route. With these preparations and a solid training regimen, participants can look forward to an unforgettable experience that honors tradition while pushing personal limits.
The Linie1629 Ultra 50k promises not only physical challenge but also historical immersion for those who dare to venture beyond the marathon distance into this unique ultramarathon setting.
