Immerse yourself in Scotland's rugged beauty during the Dunoon Dirt Dash, an invigorating bikepacking adventure on the Cowal Peninsula near Glasgow. This two-day cycling event takes place along some of Scotland’s finest gravel trails and singletrack paths, offering a blend of technical terrain and stunning natural scenery.
The itinerary includes 65 kilometers with approximately 1,300 meters of elevation gain on day one, followed by another challenging 70-kilometer route featuring around 1,000 meters of climbing. Cyclists are expected to navigate these trails independently using an electronic GPX file provided ahead of the event.
Participants can look forward to a comfortable overnight stay in a communal campsite complete with toilets and drinking water. Evening meals and breakfasts will be catered for on both nights at no additional cost, accommodating dietary preferences such as vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options upon request.
To ensure safety and enjoyment throughout this self-supported reliability trial, riders must bring essential gear including helmets, lights, repair kits, and navigation tools. E-bikes are permitted but participants should inform the organizers during registration if they plan to use one.
Traveling sustainably is encouraged with ferry services from Gourock offering a convenient way for cyclists to reach Dunoon without needing a car. Detailed information on timetables and routes can be found through Calmac or Western Ferries websites, while train connections are also available via Scotrail.
For those unable to attend in person but still interested in securing their spot, entries may be transferred free of charge between participants within the same calendar year up until the registration deadline.
