About the Event

On Sunday, October 11, the charming town of Ornex invites runners and walkers to participate in the Échappée Ornésienne – Run for a Cause! Gather at Place de l’Église early in the morning for an event that combines fitness with community spirit.
Whether you are a regular runner or someone who enjoys walking casually, this event welcomes everyone. The focus is on participation and solidarity rather than competition, making it a perfect opportunity to support a noble cause while enjoying some physical activity.
All proceeds from the day will be donated to the League Against Cancer of Pays de Gex. This year’s Échappée Ornésienne features special guest Lauraday_fit as its patroness; she is an Instagram fitness coach with over 17,000 followers who will lead a collective warm-up session at 8:45 AM.
The program includes various distances to suit all levels of physical activity:
- 9:00 AM: Start for the 10K race.
- 9:15 AM: Departure for the 5K run and walk.
- 9:20 AM onwards: A series of walking events, including a 2.5K walk.
Participants will enjoy scenic routes through Ornex's picturesque landscapes before finishing their respective courses at Place de l’Église. The event culminates in prize-giving ceremonies for the top three male and female finishers in the 10K race.
So whether you're joining solo, with family, friends, or colleagues, put on your running shoes and join us for a day of fun, fitness, and community support at the Échappée Ornésienne.
