Le CROSS de SAINT-NICOLAS

Winter transforms the Plaine d’Houlouve into an exhilarating cross-country course for runners of all levels. Held annually during the chilly months, this race invites participants to embrace the season's unique charm and challenge themselves on varied terrain.
The heart of the event lies in its 7.2-kilometer route that winds through a lush green corridor known as the Coulée Verte. This scenic path offers runners an intimate connection with nature, framed by rolling hills and open fields blanketed in snow or frosty mornings. Two significant inclines punctuate the course, adding layers of difficulty to what is already an invigorating run.
The event caters to a wide range of participants with different races scheduled throughout the morning. For younger runners aged 2016-2020, there’s a fun and free 600-meter dash at 9:00 AM followed by a slightly longer but still accessible 2.4-kilometer race for those born between 2012 and 2015.
For more seasoned runners, the main event kicks off at 9:45 AM with two options: a 4.8-kilometer route tailored to female athletes born in or before 2011, as well as male cadets from the same birth years; and for older male competitors born prior to 2009, an extended 7.2-kilometer course awaits.
Registration fees are modest at €8 per participant (with a small surcharge if paid after December 6th), ensuring that this event remains accessible and welcoming to all who wish to take part in the spirit of camaraderie and personal achievement.
The day’s festivities culminate with an efficient packet pickup from 8:00 AM until 15 minutes before each race begins, located conveniently at Stade Patoux on Rue du Stade in Wimille. This allows ample time for runners to familiarize themselves with the course layout and gather their materials without rushing.
