Lakeside Laps for Brain Injury Awareness 2026

The Lakeside Laps for Brain Injury Awareness 2026 takes place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 9:30 AM EDT at Columbia Lake in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Hosted by the Brain Injury Association of Waterloo-Wellington (BIAWW) in association with Run Waterloo, this fundraising event features scenic lakeside routes with distances including 4km run, 8km run, 4km walk, and a 200m kids' fun run for ages 7 and under – all supporting brain injury awareness, advocacy, education, and support programs.

Event Logistics and Participant Information:

• Race Day Schedule: Kit pickup opens at 8:00 AM. Race day welcome, special announcements, and survivor speeches at 8:45 AM. Warm-up at 9:10 AM. Corral at starting line at 9:20 AM. 4km and 8km races start at 9:30 AM. 200m Fun Run at approximately 10:30 AM. Food, prizes, and fun from 10:45 AM. WestJet donation prize draw at 11:00 AM.
• Finisher Medals: All finishers receive a commemorative medal.
• Kids Discount: Participants aged 12 and under receive savings on 4km and 8km entries.
• T-Shirts: Optional event shirts are available for an additional cost while supplies last.
• Future Runner (Stroller Occupant): Strollers and their passengers are free but must be registered. Strollers must be accompanied (pushed) by a participant in a different sub-event.
• Service Animals: Only service dogs are allowed on the event course.

• Course Route: 4km consists of one loop. 8km consists of two identical loops of the 4km course.
