Lake to Ocean 100K

Immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Florida’s natural landscapes with the Lake to Ocean Trail race, one of Outside Magazine's top 10 most beautiful trails in the world for 2023. This epic point-to-point adventure spans an impressive 62 miles from Port Mayaca at the NENA trailhead all the way to Hobe Sound beach.
The route offers a diverse array of ecosystems as it winds through remote, single-track terrain rarely seen by visitors. Ancient sand dunes with scrub oak and sand pine give way to dense pine flatwoods, palmetto thickets, lush palm hammocks, cypress domes, and expansive wet prairies. Wildlife enthusiasts will be thrilled at the opportunity to encounter deer, alligators, otters, owls, snakes, bobcats, coyotes, and a variety of Florida’s iconic wading birds.
With an 18-hour strict time limit, this race challenges participants both physically and mentally as they navigate through some of Florida's most pristine wilderness. Each mile is marked with key crew stops at 15, 22, 31, 37, and 48 miles to ensure runners can receive vital support from their crews along the way.
For those traveling in from out-of-town without a pre-existing team, race organizers will happily help recruit local volunteers. This ensures everyone has the necessary assistance throughout this grueling yet rewarding journey.
