For participants in both 10K and the 4-hour endurance challenge event, this means looping back through these varied landscapes multiple times to complete their distances.
Weather conditions on race day will likely feature clear skies during morning hours transitioning into partly cloudy afternoons as temperatures climb from around 6°C early in the morning up to a high of approximately 15°C by midday. UV levels are expected at moderate intensity, suggesting runners wear protective clothing or sunscreen and stay hydrated throughout their run.

The Lake Mohegan Trail Race offers three distinct events: a challenging 4-hour endurance option for those looking to push themselves over the course's loop multiple times; a competitive 10K distance covering twice around the scenic trail system; and, most notably, a traditional 5K race that caters specifically towards introducing new runners to the joys of trail running. The start location is situated right outside of Lake Mohegan Park along Morehouse Highway in Fairfield, Connecticut where all participants will begin their journey around 8am sharp for the various distances offered. Age requirements are set by gender and distance limitations but generally open to anyone aged sixteen or older unless specified otherwise on race day materials.
