La Ruée de Noël

Step into Auchy-les-Mines on November 29, 2026, for an enchanting blend of history and holiday spirit at the Christmas Rush. Nestled between Béthune and Lens in Pas-de-Calais, this town once thrived on coal mining but has now embraced running as its new treasure. The race starts and finishes at the Paul Barrois sports complex, winding through streets lined with fairy lights and festive cheer.
Participants can choose from three distances: a 5 km for those warming up their legs, a 10 km perfect for asphalt enthusiasts looking to squeeze in one last run before the holidays, or a kids' 500 m race. The atmosphere is electric as runners don red hats, blinking sweaters, and full reindeer costumes, turning the event into a vibrant Christmas parade.
The course offers modest elevation changes with a fast, flowing profile ideal for sharpening your stride. While the weather can be unpredictable—teasing drizzle, dry cold, or even a shy winter sun—the race promises an authentic taste of northern France’s charm and character.
Auchy-les-Mines is part of the UNESCO-listed Nord-Pas-de-Calais Mining Basin, where headframes, workers' housing estates, and slag heaps still tell stories of miners’ lives. After the race, extend your visit to the twin slag heaps at Loos-en-Gohelle for a unique bonus hill session.
Every finisher receives a medal as they cross the line, marking their participation in this historic yet festive event. For sustenance post-race, local Flemish carbonnade is a must-try treat that perfectly complements your running efforts.
