Kelpies Half Marathon 2027

The 4th Kelpies Half Marathon returns on September 25, 2027, inviting runners of all levels to experience the stunning beauty and unique charm of Helix Park, Falkirk. This year’s race promises an unforgettable journey across iconic landmarks and scenic routes along the Firth of Forth.
The event starts at the impressive Kelpies sculptures—a must-see landmark in Scotland—and takes participants on a tour that includes crossing over both the Clackmannanshire Bridge (built in 2008) and the historic Kincardine Bridge (constructed in 1932). The race route offers runners panoramic views of the Forth, providing an awe-inspiring backdrop for this half marathon.
Runners will begin their journey by heading towards Skinflats on quiet back roads before looping around to cross under both bridges. At Clackmannanshire Bridge, participants can pause and enjoy a stunning view looking left at the expansive waters of the Firth of Forth or right over the Kincardine Bridge’s historic silhouette.
The race course is mostly flat with just one short hill near the village of Kincardine, making it an ideal choice for runners aiming to achieve personal best times. The path then leads back towards Skinflats and eventually circles back toward the iconic Kelpies sculptures as you approach the finish line.
This year’s event also includes a partnership with Maggie's Forth Valley, a local charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by cancer. Participants are encouraged to raise funds through their personal fundraising efforts or via links provided in email confirmations.
Race day registration will take place at various locations including ForthValley College on September 23rd and near the Kelpies sculptures on both September 24th and 25th, with race start times set for 8:45 am. The event concludes around noon with prize giving ceremonies for top finishers.
