Welcome to the inaugural race of the Due North Trail Race Series, set against the picturesque backdrop of Burnsall, Yorkshire. This stunning riverside location offers runners an unforgettable experience with its blend of challenging terrain and breathtaking views. The course winds along sections of the Dales Way footpath, incorporating approximately 500 meters of ascent that rewards climbers with panoramic vistas of the Yorkshire Dales in every direction. The route features a diverse mix of terrains including riverside paths, stone tracks, and open fields, making it equally appealing to newcomers looking for an introduction to trail running as well as seasoned athletes seeking new challenges. Registration begins at 08:00 AM on race day with the car park field serving both as the starting point and finish line. Participants should aim to register by 09:45 AM to ensure they receive their race number in time for the start, which is scheduled for 10:00 AM sharp. The event venue offers a toilet block located at the top of the car park field, ensuring runners have access to necessary facilities before and after the race. Spectators are encouraged to use alternative viewing points such as Appletreewick or Howgill rather than parking in the restricted area designated for racers only. In recognition of achievement across various categories, prizes will be awarded on the day to first-place male, female, non-binary runners, along with those who excel within age groups (V40, V50, V60, and V70+). Participants can also opt-in for XCover insurance at registration if they wish to secure a refund in case of unforeseen circumstances preventing their attendance. With its welcoming atmosphere and scenic setting, the Burnsall race promises an engaging start to what will undoubtedly be an exciting trail running series. Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in Yorkshire's natural beauty while testing your limits on challenging yet rewarding terrain.
