This two-day tour offers over 257 kilometers of scenic routes and challenging climbs along Lake Kasumigaura's northern shore and Mount Tsukuba. On day one, cyclists will embark from Tsuchiura Station to explore the southern coast of Lake Kasumigaura before circling around its northern side via Enaga Station and Katori Shrine. The route covers 116 kilometers with a total elevation gain of 630 meters.
The second day promises an exhilarating climb up Mount Tsukuba, starting from Katori Shrine to the north shore of Lake Kasumigaura before heading back to Tsuchiura for the final leg that includes ascending Mount Tsukuba. This section spans approximately 141 kilometers and features a significant elevation gain of 1235 meters.
Participants have flexibility in their schedule, with options to ride only selected segments or take breaks at designated rest stops along the way. The route allows for easy disassembly and re-assembly of bicycles on support vehicles if needed, making it easier to enjoy meals, sightseeing, and leisure activities during the tour.
