Junior Proms Dash 3K Winter Series 2026-27 returns to the Beach Esplanade in Aberdeen, offering young runners aged nine and up an exciting opportunity to compete on crisp winter afternoons. This series, promoted under SAL rules with courses measured by Jones Counter, promises a challenging yet enjoyable experience for all participants.
The event will take place every Friday from October 26 through March 27, starting promptly at 1:00 PM. Specific race dates include October 9th, November 13th, December 11th, January 15th, February 12th, and March 19th of the following year.
Each race is just £2 per entry, but pre-registration is mandatory as no entries will be accepted on-site. To ensure a seamless experience for all runners, participants must collect their numbers at registration each week and keep them consistent throughout the series. Registration takes place north of the Beach Leisure Centre along the promenade.
The Junior Proms Dash 3K Winter Series features three races with accumulated times counting towards an overall series ranking. Prizes will be awarded in various categories to recognize outstanding performances across different age groups, ensuring that all levels of runners have a chance to shine.
A unique feature of this event is its community spirit and charitable cause. All profits from the series go directly to Abernecessities, supporting local initiatives aimed at improving lives within the Aberdeen area. This makes every stride count towards something greater than just personal achievement.
For those who need to change their race entry due to unforeseen circumstances, a facility allows for substitution by contacting the race director via email with full details of the substitute runner.
Participants can look forward to an engaging atmosphere on the Beach Esplanade, where they will be greeted by enthusiastic spectators and supportive volunteers. The series organizers, Jackie Stewart and Peter Jennings, are eagerly anticipating welcoming all runners throughout the winter season.
