La Juan Miguéliz Leyre Trail es más que una carrera de Trail, es el HOMENAJE que amigos, familiares y vecinos de la comarca hacemos a Juan.
En diciembre de 2015 falleció en el pirineo mientras practicaba este deporte y desde ese momento sus amigos supimos que lo mejor que podíamos hacer era convertir su sueño en realidad y preparar esta carrera que recorre los rincones más espectaculares de la sierra de Leire por los que tantas veces Juan entrenaba.
El entorno paisajístico y cultural de la carrera es único (sierra de Leire, Foz de Arbaiun, Paso del Oso, embalse de Yesa, Monasterio de Leire, etc.) y su recorrido se caracteriza por su elevada exigencia y
tecnicidad: 21 kilómetros de sendas de montaña y zonas sin caminos marcados, con un desnivel acumulado de 1.400 metros y un nuevo recorrido de 7k con 550 metros de desnivel.
