Mark your calendars for April 25, 2027, as the Jack Bristol Lake Waramaug Ultra Races celebrate their 53rd anniversary. This historic race is not just another endurance challenge; it's an iconic tradition that has been running since 1974 and remains one of the oldest 100K races in the United States. The event offers three distances: a grueling 100 kilometers, a challenging 50-mile run, and a more manageable yet still formidable 50-kilometer race. All participants will start from near the intersection of Lake Waramaug Road and Anderson Acres Road in Kent, Connecticut, with staggered start times to accommodate each distance: 6:30 AM for the longer races and 7:30 AM for the 50K. The course itself is a scenic loop around picturesque Lake Waramaug. Paved roads make up most of the route, offering runners rolling terrain that's conducive to setting personal bests. Aid stations are strategically placed every few miles along the lakefront path, ensuring participants stay fueled and hydrated throughout their journey. The race finishes back at the State Park where it all began. In addition to the stunning natural surroundings, finishers will receive custom-designed swag: a hi-tech t-shirt for everyone who participates, medals for 50K and 50-mile runners, and an impressive belt buckle for those completing the full 100 kilometers. Post-race food and drinks are also provided at the State Park. Join fellow enthusiasts in this enduring celebration of endurance running amidst one of Connecticut's most beautiful settings.
