It's A Doddle

It’s A Doddle returns with its 24-hour Everesting Challenge, inviting participants of all ages and abilities to help climb virtual Mount Everest multiple times over. The challenge takes place near Calvert Lakes, an impressive activity center nestled within the scenic Lake District.
Participants can choose from a variety of activities including walking, running, cycling, or even using mobility aids like space hoppers, trampers, or wheelchairs. The route is mapped out along a wide and accessible forestry track that ascends Dodd Hill, with Strava logging available for those who wish to keep track.
The event promises an inclusive atmosphere, supported by the dedicated team at Calvert Lakes. Participants will be greeted warmly at the start line and welcomed back with hot drinks upon reaching the summit. A café on-site offers a slice of cake as a well-deserved treat during breaks.
This year’s challenge aims not only to break last year's record of climbing Everest 4.6 times but also to raise funds for the Lake District Calvert Trust, which provides exciting outdoor adventures and experiences for people with disabilities along with their friends, families, and carers. During the Big Give Christmas Challenge week, every donation is matched, doubling its impact.
Whether you’re joining as a team from work or school, bringing your extended family, or coming alone to support this cause, each meter counts towards reaching the goal. Participants are also encouraged to bring their pets along for an enjoyable and inclusive experience.
Free parking will be available at Calvert Lakes on the day of the event, making it convenient for everyone to participate in this unique fundraising challenge.
