About the Event

Explore Irchester Country Park with your canine companion at our 5k canicross adventure. This scenic race offers an ideal setting for both first-timers and seasoned runners to enjoy the beauty of woodland trails, grassy meadows, and dirt paths.
Registration begins early on race morning from 8am in a gazebo located near Little Meadow (across from the play park). No pre-event timing numbers are mailed out; instead, participants will receive detailed information via email one week before the event.
The start line is situated along the top car park within Irchester Country Park and clearly marked for easy identification. Parking costs £3.50 per vehicle and covers up to 12 hours.
For those new to canicross, listen to our podcast episodes that cover everything from beginner tips to dog safety guidelines. Race Harborough volunteers will be on hand throughout the course to ensure a smooth experience.
Trail shoes are recommended along with a properly fitted canicross harness for your furry friend. Trophies await the top three male and female finishers while all participants receive an event medal, plus special treats for dogs at the finish line.
On-course support includes professional first aid stations at both start and finish lines as well as race volunteers positioned throughout to assist if needed. Race Harborough adheres strictly to canicross rules to ensure a safe environment for everyone involved.
Additionally, all participants will have access to free digital photos of their race experience shortly after crossing the finish line, shared via our Facebook page.
This year’s charity focus remains on supporting local foodbanks in Market Harborough and Northampton. Race entries provide an opportunity to contribute towards these causes, fostering a sense of community support among runners.
