INVOC Regional - Dallaschyle

Embark on an orienteering adventure through the enchanting Dallaschyle forest, just outside Cawdor and close to the Moray Coast. This picturesque location offers a blend of rugged terrain and mature woodland, making it ideal for navigating intricate courses with detailed contour lines and rock formations.
The event takes place on November 15, 2026, providing runners with an opportunity to explore tracks and rides that wind through the forest's diverse landscape, avoiding recently felled areas. The map scale of 1:10000 ensures precise navigation, while contours at 5m intervals add depth to your route planning.
Participants will gather in a field southwest of Cawdor for registration between 9:30 and 12:00, where they can collect maps or hire dibbers. The event features a punching start approximately 600 meters from the assembly area, with download facilities located back at the starting point to ensure all competitors return safely.
SI timing will be used throughout the course, though participants planning to use contactless SAIC may encounter some units that require manual activation upon arrival. Car parking is available for £2 per vehicle; car sharing is encouraged to minimize environmental impact.
The day promises not only a challenging orienteering experience but also opportunities to enjoy local treats at an on-site cake stall and secure your belongings with the key drop service. Remember, safety is paramount: dress appropriately for weather conditions, carry a whistle, and be vigilant of forestry operations in progress.
