I DUATLÓN CROS ALTO CAMPOO CANTUR- CPTO. DE CANTABRIA DE DUATLÓN CROS SPRINT

The Duathlon Cross Alto Campoo Cantur XXI Championship of Cantabria Absolute and School (Cadets and Juniors) takes place on October 17, 2026 at the Esquí y Montaña Station Alto Campoo in Brañavieja, Campoo de Suso. This event features both absolute categories for athletes from juveniles to veterans and school categories including cadet and junior divisions.
Participants will face a challenging course with distances of approximately 4.5 kilometers running, followed by a bike ride of about 16 kilometers, concluding with another run segment measuring around 2.5 kilometers for the adult category. For younger competitors in the infant-cadete division, the race involves shorter runs and cycling legs: starting with a 2.3-kilometer cycle and then transitioning to a 7-kilometer bike ride before finishing up with an approximately 1.7-kilometer run.
The competition adheres strictly to the FETRI (Federación Española de Triatlón) rules for 2026, which prohibit gravel bikes in favor of mountain or cyclocross bikes suitable for off-road terrain. Athletes without a FETRI license can still participate as recreational athletes but must adhere to all competition regulations.
Registration closes on October 14 at midnight local time, with late entries available until then but subject to an additional fee of €50. Participants and clubs from Cantabria are eligible for the Cantabrian Championship starting from the infant category upwards. Should unforeseen circumstances lead to a postponement or cancellation of the race, entry fees will be refunded; however, no changes or refunds will be granted after registration.
Winners in each category and gender (from infants through veterans) receive medals if there are more than 60 absolute entries overall. Trophies go to the top three Cantabrian finishers across all categories as well. The champions of the Absolute division earn a distinctive Champion’s Maillot from Alto Campoo, symbolizing their victory.
The Esquí y Montaña Station Alto Campoo boasts historical significance in Spanish cycling history; it was here that Mike Kloser, then world champion, participated in an important early mountain biking competition back in 1989. This rich heritage adds a layer of prestige to the upcoming event, making it not just a race but also a celebration of Cantabria’s sporting legacy.
