Huron 100

On June 12, 2027, runners of all stripes can look forward to an unforgettable adventure along Michigan's picturesque Huron River watershed. The day will feature two epic races: the Huron 100 Endurance Run and its companion event, the Waterloo-Pinckney 50 miler.
The Huron 100 is a point-to-point journey that traverses six state recreation areas, two metroparks, and one county park. With an impressive 80% trail composition, runners can expect to navigate through diverse terrain including bike paths, dirt roads, gravel trails, and paved routes. The course boasts approximately 8,000 feet of elevation gain, making it a true test for endurance athletes.
Aid stations will be strategically placed along the route at regular intervals, with eight offering crew access options. These aid points are designed to provide essential support throughout the race's demanding 32-hour cut-off period. The event kicks off at 9:00 AM from Waterloo State Recreation Area in Grass Lake, MI.
For those seeking a more manageable challenge, the WP 50 offers an equally captivating journey through the scenic Waterloo-Pinckney area. This point-to-point race covers roughly half of the Huron 100's distance with around 4,300 feet of elevation gain over its course. The route is comprised primarily of trails (83%), bike paths, and a mix of dirt roads and gravel surfaces.
The WP 50 begins at 7:00 AM to ensure runners have ample daylight for their journey, finishing well before sunset. With eight aid stations including three crew access points, the race adheres to a strict 15-hour cut-off time.
Both events are centered around supporting and preserving Michigan's natural beauty. Participants will experience breathtaking views of forests, riverside landscapes, and serene lakes as they make their way through this stunning region. The races aim for sustainability with initiatives like being cupless and zero waste, ensuring minimal environmental impact while promoting the conservation of the Huron River watershed.
Runners who complete both events within their respective cut-off times will be rewarded with unique keepsakes: a belt buckle for the 100-mile finishers and medals for those completing the WP 50. Additionally, top male, female, and non-binary finishers in each race will receive special recognition.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, June 9th to Sunday, June 11th at Proud Lake Recreation Area's River Hawk Annex from 4 - 7 PM daily. Shuttle services are available post-race to transport participants back to their starting points or designated drop-off locations.
Registration fees vary based on early bird pricing and time of purchase but include access to the event’s resources such as course maps, aid station information, pacer guidelines, and more detailed race day logistics found on the official website. Discounts are available for volunteers who also wish to participate in either race.
