For the community. For the trails. For the culture.
Hikesgiving is Philly's Thanksgiving hike. 200 hikers, moving through the Wissahickon in crews, on the Orange and White Loop. This isn't a race. Nobody's timing you. Walk it at your pace, with your people, and finish at the table.
HOW IT WORKS
Hikesgiving runs on crews of up to 10.
- Start a crew: register as a Crew Lead, name your crew and send your people the link.
- Join a crew: pick your crew's name when you register.
- Rolling solo? Register as a solo hiker and we'll put you in a crew. You'll leave with new people.
Every hiker gets a numbered bib with your wave and crew. Waves head out in groups starting at 10AM so the trail stays moving.
THE POST-HIKE SOCIAL
The finish line turns into a pop-up at Blue Bell Park:
- Recovery Lounge
- Live DJ
- Community Basket Giveaway
- Merch + Food Pop-Up
[OPTIONAL, IF CONFIRMED: Bring one non-perishable Thanksgiving item (canned yams, stuffing, rice, cranberry sauce). Carry it on the hike and drop it at the basket table at the finish. Everything goes into baskets for Philly families.]
WHAT YOU GET
- Hikesgiving bib (your number, wave and crew)
- [Commemorative Hikesgiving medal, if included with registration]
- Access to the post-hike social
- Official merch available at the pop-up: tees, crewnecks, hoodies, totes, bottles and medals
THE ROUTE: The Orange and White Loop through Wissahickon Valley Park. About 2.6 miles on natural trail with some climbs, rocks and roots. If you can walk a few miles at a steady pace, you can do this. Crew leads and trail marshals will be out on the route.
REGISTRATION: This Hike is FREE. Spots are capped at 100. When they're gone, there's a waitlist.
Registration closes November 17th or when spots run out.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO (FAQ section)
What time should I get there? Check-in opens at 9:00AM. First wave steps off at 10AM. Get there early to pick up your bib and find your crew.
Where do I go? Blue Bell Park, 842 W Walnut Ln, Philadelphia, PA 19144. Look for the orange START arch.
Where do I park? Parking On Site / transit options. Check SEPTA routes to confirm.
What should I wear? Layers, and shoes with grip. Sneakers work. Trail shoes are better. It's late November in the gorge, so it can be cold in the morning.
What should I bring? Water, a light snack, a phone.
Does my crew have to sign up together? No. Your Crew Lead creates the crew, and each person registers on their own and picks the crew name. Crews max out at 10.
Can I bring kids or dogs? 18+ and leashed dogs welcome on the trail but not in the pop-up area.]
What if it rains? We hike rain or shine. If the weather turns unsafe, we'll email and text all registered hikers the day before.
Is there a waiver? Yes. Every hiker agrees to the event waiver when registering or at check-in.
