Highland Fling Relay Race

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with the Highland Fling Relay Race, taking place on September 18, 2027. This two-person relay event follows the southern 53 miles (85 km) of Scotland's iconic West Highland Way through the picturesque Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park. The route stretches from Milngavie near Glasgow to Tyndrum in the Highlands.
Each team member will run approximately a marathon distance, navigating rugged terrain and breathtaking scenery that includes lochs, forests, and rolling hills. Participants must be at least 20 years old on race day with no upper age limit set for runners. The relay features strict cut-off times designed to ensure safety and maintain the integrity of the event.
Leg one competitors are expected to reach Rowardennan by 12:45 PM, while leg two participants face additional checkpoints at Inversnaid (7.3 miles), Beinglas (13.7 miles), and an A82 road crossing (22.8 miles). Despite the strict nature of these cut-offs, teams have some flexibility; if a runner hasn't arrived by 12:45 PM in Rowardennan, their teammate can still start while their time is recorded separately.
The race offers a unique opportunity to experience Scotland's natural beauty and challenge your endurance. Teams are encouraged to prepare thoroughly for this grueling yet rewarding relay event that not only tests physical limits but also celebrates inclusivity and equality among all participants. For those looking to secure a place, entry involves pre-selection lists with no initial payment required.
Join the Highland Fling Relay Race and immerse yourself in one of Scotland's most scenic running challenges.
