RETURN OF THE VICTORIA PARK TEMPO SANDWICH
Join us at Victoria Park, situated on Westburn Road near the Rosemount area of Aberdeen for another exhilarating session. This historic park, established back in 1871, boasts an array of well-maintained footpaths that wind through a lush landscape dotted with mature trees, creating a serene and sheltered environment perfect for running.
Our training begins at 6pm with a tempo run along the top loop to establish a controlled pace. This initial warm-up will help participants get their legs moving smoothly as we ease into the session's intensity.
Following this, runners will engage in an interval workout consisting of ten one-minute repeats aimed at honing speed and rhythm while also focusing on recovery between efforts. Partners will switch loops halfway through for added variety and engagement during these high-intensity intervals.
To conclude our main set, another tempo run awaits as we challenge ourselves to maintain good form and pace despite fatigue building up over the session. If time permits, participants can look forward to a lively 3-person relay race to cap off the evening with some friendly competition and camaraderie.
The entire event includes thorough warm-up routines along with cool-down exercises designed by our expert coaches who will be present throughout to provide guidance, encouragement, and valuable advice tailored specifically for each participant’s needs. This inclusive session welcomes runners of all levels, ensuring no one is left behind as we push together towards shared goals.
Meet at the entrance to Victoria Park located at the foot of Watson Street on Westburn Road where free parking becomes available after 6pm along Watson Street or Cornhill Road; additional spaces are also found in nearby Westburn Park. Please arrive prepared and ready to start promptly at 6pm, with the full session lasting approximately one hour.
