Immerse yourself in the lush trails of Countesswells Woods for an evening filled with strength, stamina, and speed. This session is designed to maximize your potential on the woodland paths and varied terrain.
The event kicks off at 6pm sharp with a gentle warm-up jog through the serene forest setting. Dynamic drills and activation exercises follow, preparing you mentally and physically for what's ahead.
Next up, runners will embark on their first challenge: a steady-paced effort lasting between three to five minutes. This segment helps everyone find their rhythm before diving into more intense intervals.
The centerpiece of the session is six sets of two-minute efforts followed by one minute of recovery, punctuated with an additional set of one minute at full throttle and two minutes rest in between. These high-intensity bursts are crafted to push your endurance while maintaining proper running form throughout.
To cap off the workout, participants will tackle five 30-second sprints on hilly sections, each followed by a generous recovery period of ninety seconds. This final burst is aimed at sharpening leg turnover and leaving you feeling accomplished as you cool down with an easy jog back to base camp.
The session concludes with some well-deserved stretching exercises, ensuring participants leave the woods refreshed and ready for their next challenge.
This event caters to runners of all skill levels, offering personalized pacing options throughout. Regular regrouping points are strategically placed along the route, making sure no runner is left behind as you navigate through Countesswells Woods together in a supportive community atmosphere.
