Hellevation 27

Set against the rolling hills of Grange, Tipperary, Munster’s Backyard Ultra is an endurance challenge like no other. Competitors gather at noon on April 17, 2027, to embark on a series of 4.167-mile loops that must be completed within each hour to stay in the race. The course, clearly marked and supported by local marshals who offer friendly encouragement, tests runners’ limits as they push through one grueling lap after another.
With only limited entry for 100 competitors and a strict horn signaling system—disqualification occurs if you’re not back on time—the event demands unwavering focus and determination. The race continues until just one runner remains, earning the title of champion with their final loop. For those who prefer peace of mind before committing to such an intense challenge, XCover is available for purchase, providing a refund option in case unforeseen circumstances prevent attendance.
Munster’s Backyard Ultra isn’t just about running; it’s a celebration of perseverance and community spirit nestled among the scenic landscapes of rural Ireland.
Limited camping on-site offers runners a chance to rest between laps or simply soak up the unique atmosphere that comes with pushing your body to its limits in this extraordinary setting.
