The Harcourts HB Women's Triathlon, an empowering celebration of women’s achievements, invites all levels from novices to seasoned athletes to the starting line on October 18, 2026. Whether you're ready to conquer a full triathlon or prefer shorter distances like run/walk events and multisport disciplines such as aquabike and duathlon, there's an option for everyone. The event takes place in Heretaunga Sports Park, where participants will experience the scenic beauty of Hawke’s Bay while cycling through picturesque landscapes and running along well-maintained tracks. The triathlon courses are designed to be inclusive, with a Short Tri offering 100M swim, 5 km cycle, and 2.5 km run; Middle Tri featuring 250M swim, 15 km cycle, and 5 km run; and the challenging Long Tri consisting of 500M swim, 20 km cycle, and a 7.5 km run. Registration opens on Saturday, October 14th at Grandstand foyer from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for those who haven't signed up online by the deadline of Thursday, October 13th at 10:00 am. Early registration ensures named bib numbers and access to exclusive merchandise. The day begins with a group stretch session at 8:15 am followed by a compulsory race briefing at 8:40 am before the races commence at 9:00 am sharp. Participants are encouraged to arrive early, entering via Evenden Road for smooth traffic management on event day. Proceeds from this triathlon go directly towards supporting the Heretaunga Women’s Centre, making it more than just a race—it's an opportunity to make a real difference in your community while challenging yourself physically and mentally. Join us at the finish line where camaraderie and celebration await.

About Hastings
Learn more about the host city, Hastings.
Hastings is a city in Hawke's Bay, on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is one of two cities in Hawke's Bay, the other being nearby Napier. It was heavily damaged in the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake, but because there were no fires much of it survived and is still visible in the city's downtown architecture. This contributed to the damage it did suffer makes Hastings the 'jewel' in the crown of the 'Napier' earthquake. This is mixed with Art Deco. Hastings has in the past been known as being an unattractive place to visit, but with the council's push for central business district redevelopment the city is returning to its previous splendour. It is the food-producing capital of New Zealand and has many different types of food. Its cuisine is unrivalled anywhere else. It also receives 2200 hours of sunshine a year, making it one of the sunniest places in New Zealand.
