Halland Ultra-Beach is an epic trail running adventure that celebrates the freedom of open landscapes along Sweden’s western coast. Spanning from Göteborg to Båstad, this challenging course covers 200 miles across six stages, each offering a unique blend of terrain including trails, off-trail sections, pastures, rocky and sandy beaches, grassy areas, and some roads. Participants have the option to tackle the full distance or choose one of several shorter routes. The ultra-distance runners will embark on their journey from Göteborg with two starting times: 8 PM on Thursday for both the northern route and the main race route. Shorter distances include a 100-mile course, a classic 100-kilometer event, and individual stage runs ranging between 40 to 70 kilometers. The course is self-supported throughout most of its length, with drop bag stations at the end of each day where runners can rest, refuel, and access their gear. These stages are marked by picturesque locations such as Onsala, Åsa, Åskloster, Olofsbo, and Tylösand. Runners must rely on provided GPX tracks and map/roadbooks for navigation.
