Dive into the heart of Oregon’s scenic Scoggins Valley Park for an unforgettable running adventure with the Hagg Mud 50K/25K, set to take place on February 13th, 2027. This beloved race has been a staple since its inception in 2001 and continues to captivate runners who aren’t afraid of getting down and dirty.
Starting at Henry Hagg Lake, the course winds around the lake offering stunning views of serene water surrounded by lush greenery. The terrain is varied but mostly flat with only minor elevation changes along a gravel road early on. However, what truly sets this race apart are its notorious muddy sections that challenge even the most seasoned trail runners.
Participants can choose between two distances: the 50K (31 miles) or the more manageable yet equally thrilling 25K (16 miles). Both routes feature multiple loops around Hagg Lake with staggered starts to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants. The race is known for its well-stocked aid stations, providing runners with essential supplies such as water, electrolyte drinks, fruit, snacks, and more.
Post-race festivities include warm food and beverages at the finish line where you can mingle with fellow racers in covered bag drop and warming/changing tents. Additionally, all participants will receive custom Hagg Mud socks upon completion of their chosen distance.
Registration includes access to three aid stations that are cupless—encouraging runners to bring reusable containers for a more eco-friendly experience. The event also emphasizes waste reduction efforts with recycling bins and food waste buckets at each station and the finish line, promoting sustainability throughout the race day.
