HADRIANS WALL MARATHON - EARLY BIRD PRICE!!

Experience the grandeur of Hadrian’s Wall on October 16, 2027, with the inaugural Hadrian's Wall Marathon. This trail marathon offers runners an unforgettable journey through some of Britain’s most historic and scenic landscapes.
Starting at Birdoswald Roman Fort in Gilsland, participants will follow the iconic Hadrian’s Wall Trail for approximately 17-18 miles before merging onto the existing half-marathon route towards Hexham. The course winds through rugged terrain dotted with ancient ruins, providing a unique blend of historical immersion and physical challenge.
Runners should be prepared to encounter varied elevations along this challenging yet rewarding path, which showcases Northumberland’s dramatic vistas and rich Roman heritage. The event is cani-cross friendly, allowing participants to bring their well-controlled dogs on leashes for the full 26.2-mile journey.
Participants will need to arrange transportation from Hexham town to Birdoswald Fort due to different start and finish locations. Public car parking is available in Hexham, but organizers encourage car-sharing to minimize environmental impact.
Upon crossing the finish line at Tyne Green Country Park, runners can look forward to receiving a commemorative event T-shirt, medal, and snack as part of their achievement. Live chip-timing by Timing Up North ensures accurate results for all participants.
This inaugural marathon promises an immersive adventure through history and nature, perfect for trail runners seeking a memorable challenge in the UK’s stunning countryside.
