Great South Bay 5K Turkey Trot Sponsored by Islip Fire Department 2026

The Great South Bay 5K Turkey Trot, sponsored by the Islip Fire Department, invites runners and walkers of all ages to participate on Saturday, November 26, 2026. This family-friendly race starts at 9:00 AM sharp from Main Street in Islip, New York.
Participants can expect a scenic course that winds through historic neighborhoods and around the Great South Bay shoreline, offering stunning views of the water as well as glimpses into local landmarks and parks. The event begins with pre-race festivities including check-in at 7:30 AM and the national anthem ceremony at 8:00 AM.
Parking is conveniently available in several designated areas near Islip Town Hall on Nassau Avenue, behind businesses along Main Street from Locust to Grant Avenues, behind 401 Main Street, and a public lot located south of Main Street. All parking options are free of charge with no meters enforced throughout the day.
To ensure an enjoyable experience for all participants, carpooling is highly encouraged due to increased event popularity. Early registrants who sign up by November 7th will receive a commemorative T-shirt while supplies last. Additionally, the first 800 finishers will be awarded medals as they cross the finish line, adding extra excitement and motivation.
