Grassroots Enduro R4 - Cahir

Grassroots Enduro Round 4 at Cahir, hosted by MBCC, invites mountain bike enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to experience the thrill of competitive racing. This grassroots series aims to make cycling accessible for everyone while fostering a supportive community that encourages newcomers to join in.
The event features a unique one-day blind race format where participants do not have prior access to practice runs but can attempt each stage multiple times before the cut-off time, typically allowing up to two attempts per stage. While this competition is welcoming to beginners, it also challenges more experienced riders with technical trails that match those found in regional and national Enduro events.
Competitors must be at least 12 years old; however, anyone under 14 requires a guardian's presence both during the race and at registration for sign-off on necessary consent forms. All participants are required to have a valid Cycling Ireland (C.I.) license—there are no one-day licenses available for those under 18.
Safety is paramount in this event as per Cycling Ireland Off-Road Commission guidelines, mandating that all riders wear full-face helmets at all times during the race. Helmets can either be integral or removable chin-guard types but must always be securely fastened on the rider's head while cycling. Additionally, junior participants (under 18) are required to wear mountain biking spinal protection and gloves.
Parents or guardians of under-18 riders need to register separately before entering their child into the race through SiEntries. They can choose from pre-existing entries if applicable or opt for new registrations as needed.
To provide peace of mind, participants have the option to purchase XCover insurance, which offers a refund in case unforeseen circumstances prevent them from attending.
