Grantchester Charity Runs

The 2027 Grantchester Charity Runs, sponsored by Dartington Wealth Management, return on Sunday, September 26th, offering runners the chance to support Maggie’s Centre Cambridge and ACT (Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust) through a scenic run in picturesque farmland just outside of Cambridge.
Participants can choose between the challenging 10k race or the family-friendly 3k event. Both courses wind through serene fields adjacent to Grantchester, ensuring runners avoid any road crossings for a safe and enjoyable experience on predominantly flat terrain with some mixed elements that cater to all levels of fitness and skill.
The day begins at 9:00am when registration opens in Grantchester Village Car Park located just outside the village towards Trumpington. Runners can drop off their bags near the registration area, which is organized alphabetically by last name for a smooth start. A warm-up session led by Lucy Carlton from Frank Lee Centre at Addenbrooke's kicks off at 10:15am.
The races commence with the 10k starting promptly at 10:30am followed closely by the 3k race beginning at 10:35am. Post-race refreshments are provided, generously supported by The Lunchtime Company and Grantchester's Red Lion pub. A special treat for families is a reduced registration fee of £6.50 plus handling fees for accompanied under-12s participating in the 3k race.
Every finisher receives a commemorative medal, while top performers will be awarded trophies at an official ceremony scheduled for 11:45am. Chip timing ensures accurate results are available shortly after the event concludes. The Java Coffee Club van and Coach House Health Care clinic will also be on site offering post-race treatments such as sports massage, physiotherapy, osteopathy, and running-related podiatry advice.
