In 2027, the Raid Altitude returns to a brand-new course starting from Monêtier-les-Bains. This year's adventure promises an unparalleled route through mountains, forests, alpine pastures, and glaciers. The race spans two days of self-sufficiency on an IOF map at a scale of 1/20,000, updated especially for this event.
Participants will navigate the challenging terrain with agility, balancing speed and precision as they traverse steep ascents and descents. A new addition to this year's Raid Altitude is the C bis course, which allows competitors to orient themselves without carrying additional equipment. This unique challenge offers a fresh perspective on traditional raiding techniques while maintaining the essence of self-reliance.
The race culminates in an overnight bivouac nestled deep within the mountains. Here, runners will experience the camaraderie and spirit that define high-altitude adventures. Basic amenities such as toilets and water are provided at the campsite, but participants must bring their own sleeping gear, cooking equipment, and meals for a night under the stars.
The event organizers have been working diligently on logistics to ensure an enjoyable stay, including plans to offer beverages like beer and lemonade, though runners should carry cash in case of additional purchases.
