Grafham Water Trail Races

Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of Cambridgeshire with the Grafham Water Trail Races, featuring both 10k and half marathon distances. Starting at Marlow Park, these races offer runners an unforgettable journey through some of England's most picturesque countryside.
The 10k race is designed to introduce trail running enthusiasts to this unique terrain while offering a perfect challenge for beginners. The route winds along the Three Shires Way bridleway before looping back towards the finish line at Marlow Park, providing stunning views of Grafham Water and its surrounding landscapes. For those looking to push their limits further, the half marathon extends beyond the 10k loop with an additional lap around the reservoir, offering more miles on varied trails.
Both races are fully marked and marshaled for safety and ease of navigation through Cambridgeshire's rolling hills and lush greenery. Participants must be at least 16 years old for the 10k and 17 for the half marathon, with a race cut-off time of four hours to ensure everyone can enjoy the experience without undue pressure.
Registration opens early on race day, allowing runners ample time to collect their bibs and timing chips before setting off. The half marathon starts at 9:00 AM, followed by the 10k starting line-up just fifteen minutes later. Along both routes, you'll find water stations strategically placed for hydration needs.
Trail shoes or footwear with good traction are recommended due to the nature of the terrain. Participants should also carry a fully charged mobile phone and their own reusable cup as part of mandatory items. Race organizers encourage runners to dress appropriately based on weather conditions by considering additional gear like waterproof jackets, long-sleeved base layers, hats, and gloves.
Upon crossing the finish line at Marlow Park, all participants will receive an exclusive race medal while top male and female finishers in each category can look forward to special prizes. Support from friends and family is best enjoyed along the tracks at Grafham Water, ensuring minimal disruption to local communities. As a charity initiative, every entrant has the opportunity to contribute towards supporting the Jubilee Foodbank in Market Harborough and the Weston Favell Centre Foodbank in Northampton, helping those in need within our community.
