About the event
Göteborgsvarvet, recognized as one of the world’s largest half marathons, invites runners to explore the vibrant cityscape of Gothenburg. Each year, thousands gather for this iconic race that showcases the beauty and charm of Sweden's second-largest city. The course winds through Slottsskogen park, a lush green oasis with its historic castle ruins, before crossing the Göta Älv river over picturesque bridges. Runners then follow Avenyn, Gothenburg’s most famous avenue lined with cafes and shops, providing an energetic backdrop as participants push towards the finish line. This event is not just about running; it's a celebration of community spirit and scenic beauty.
