Golden Trail Touraine returns for its 12th edition, promising an exhilarating weekend of running and adventure through the picturesque landscapes of central France. Set against the backdrop of rolling hills and vibrant forests, this year’s race will attract over a thousand runners eager to test their mettle on challenging terrain. The main event takes place in semi-nocturnal conditions on Saturday evening with a 40-kilometer course that winds its way through scenic routes under moonlight. The trail is designed for experienced runners who are ready for an unforgettable night run, complete with stunning views and the thrill of racing under starlit skies. Accompanying this flagship event will be two shorter nocturnal trails on Saturday evening: an 8-kilometer route and a more challenging 14-kilometer course. On Sunday morning, the festivities continue with three additional trail runs for all levels—8 kilometers, 14 kilometers, and a longer endurance test of 24 kilometers. For younger participants, there’s also a fun one or two kilometer run designed specifically for children to encourage their love for running from an early age. For those who prefer walking, the event offers a leisurely afternoon hike on Saturday, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery at a more relaxed pace without the competitive edge of racing. Each participant is required to complete a Parcours Prévention Santé (PPS) form in lieu of a traditional medical certificate before registering for any race or walk. With limited spots available—500 participants per day excluding children’s races and walks—the event encourages early registration. Additionally, the Touraine Trail Équipe (TTE), which organizes this trail, will donate €1 to Gouttes D'O Solidaires for every registered runner who isn't part of the kids' race. The entire weekend is supported by a dedicated team of 60 volunteers and features eco-friendly practices throughout.
