Go Big was created for local runners at their request for more long distance races, and is a way for us at Hawaii Mountain Running to help benefit Hawaii Wildlife Fund. This no frills road course will allow you to do a Big Island pilgrimage of extreme or extremely extreme lengths. You must provide your own aid/ crew and or do drops for your own gear as multiple locations on island do not have accessible food/water refuel options. This race is not for everyone, and we understand if it's not for you. This event is to help us bring in the New Year, and to encourage runners to Go Big and try a distance they never before have attempted! Please reach out to the race director if you would like to join us as a relay team or do a different distance. IMPORTANT UPDATE : All races will begin at the Cooper Center in Volcano at 6am on 12/31/2026.
