The GNATHANG VALLEY VIBRANT VILLAGE MARATHON 2026, nestled at an impressive elevation of 13,500 feet within East Sikkim's Pakyong District, is a celebration of high-altitude endurance and the breathtaking natural beauty of northeast India. Scheduled for November 1st, 2026, participants can choose from four distinct race categories: a full marathon (42KM), half-marathon (21KM), a challenging 10KM route, and a fun-filled 5KM run. The terrain features steep mountain roads that wind through lush landscapes, offering runners an unforgettable experience amidst the stunning scenery of East Sikkim.
Race day festivities begin with race bib distribution on October 31st to November 1st at GNATHANG VALLEY. All participants will receive a premium dry-fit t-shirt, medals, goody bags, and post-race refreshments. On-course hydration stations are strategically placed along the routes to ensure runners stay hydrated throughout their journey.
For those traveling from outside Sikkim, it is recommended to spend three days acclimatizing before race day due to the high altitude. Additionally, all non-residents must obtain an Inner Line Permit issued in Gangtok prior to the event. A medical certificate of fitness is also required for all participants.
