Get set for an unprecedented race that goes beyond the finish line and into the heart of Lyon. Welcome to Give Me FIV, the first-ever running event dedicated to medically assisted reproduction (ART) in France. Held at Parc de Parilly between Vénissieux and Bron, this unique event offers a serene setting among the park’s wooded trails within the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. FIV stands for In Vitro Fertilization – an ART technique that helps individuals and couples start families despite fertility challenges. This race is more than just competition; it's a movement to break taboos, raise awareness, and support those on their journey towards parenthood. Each registration contributes directly to the cause: solo runners donate €5 to the HCL Foundation (Hospices Civils de Lyon), while duos contribute €12. These funds go toward concrete projects at HFME’s reproductive department, making every step count in supporting crucial research and services. The race route winds through Parc de Parilly's tranquil paths, providing a peaceful backdrop for this endurance event. Participants can choose to run solo or with a partner, each option offering an opportunity to share personal stories or simply enjoy the camaraderie of others on their journey. Symbolically, like ART itself, Give Me FIV represents patience and perseverance, culminating in collective triumph at the finish line. Whether you're here for the challenge or as part of a symbolic walk, your presence is a powerful statement supporting those who fight to give life. After crossing the finish line, take some time to explore Lyon’s vibrant culture and history. Wander through Vieux Lyon's traboules, marveling at its Renaissance architecture. Savor local delicacies like praline tart or traditional Bouchon Lyonnais cuisine for a taste of authentic French hospitality. If you're still energized, enjoy a stroll along the Rhône River promenade or climb to Fourvière Hill for stunning views over Lyon. So lace up your shoes and join us in giving high fives to research and those who strive to bring life into this world.
