About the Event
Join the Galloping Gobbler race on November 26, 2026, as we celebrate our 16th year with runners from all over. This annual running festival offers both competitive and recreational opportunities for everyone to enjoy. The event features a challenging yet rewarding 15K Challenge where participants can complete the 8:00 AM start of the 10K race followed by the 9:30 AM beginning of the 5K run, earning them eligibility for overall and age group awards. For those who prefer to focus on one distance, there's also a standalone 10K or 5K option. The Galloping Gobbler is committed to inclusivity and accessibility, welcoming athletes with disabilities through adaptive divisions that include racing wheelchair, handcycle, visually impaired ambulatory categories, as well as an adaptive participation division designed for everyday wheelchair users and those requiring personal assistance. These efforts ensure everyone has the chance to cross the finish line. Race day activities kick off early at 6:30 AM with packet pickup and registration. The main event starts promptly at 8:00 AM with the 10K race, followed by a series of Drumstick Dash events throughout the morning for added excitement. Participants can also enjoy snacks, cotton candy, and warm drinks post-race. Registration includes chip-timed races, technical T-shirts (guaranteed until November 10), finisher medals, and awards in various age groups every five years. The Kids' Drumstick Dash is free with a medal for all participants. The Galloping Gobbler also supports several youth charities: the Armed Forces YMCA, International Order of Rainbow for Girls, and International Order of Job's Daughters. Racers are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation to Pulaski County Homeless during packet pickup or race day. With a fast course that is stroller-friendly and accommodating for walkers, this event offers something special for everyone interested in running on Thanksgiving weekend but scheduled now for November 26th.
