Fur Love for Vets

Run for Fur Love: Vets Edition is set to take place on November 7, 2026, along scenic routes near Augusta Canal and the Savannah River. This community-driven race offers both a 5k and a 10k course, with the longer distance starting at 9 a.m., followed by the shorter run beginning just fifteen minutes later.
Participants can look forward to running through picturesque trails around Lake Olmstead Trailhead on Milledge Road in Augusta, Georgia. The event is designed to be inclusive for runners of all ages and fitness levels, welcoming dog companions as well—provided they are non-reactive towards people, other dogs, and wildlife. Dogs must remain on fixed leashes throughout the race.
Registration costs $30 before October 1, 2026, increasing to $35 thereafter until race day. All runners will receive chip timing for an accurate account of their performance. Awards are given based on gun times across various age categories: Overall winners and top three in each decade from ages 14 through 70+.
Finisher medals and shirts can be guaranteed by registering before October 1, with packet pickup available at Fleet Feet Augusta on November 6 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., or the morning of the race starting at 7 a.m.
All proceeds benefit Train a Dog Save a Warrior (TADSAW), an organization dedicated to providing medical alert service dogs for wounded veterans suffering from conditions such as PTSD, TBI, and MST without charge. The event promises water stations along both routes, ensuring runners stay hydrated during their run alongside the Augusta Canal’s winding trails.
