Frozen Goat

Welcome to the Frozen Goat race, the third installment of the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series! Set against the backdrop of Monte Sano State Park near Huntsville, Alabama, this challenging trail run offers breathtaking mountain scenery and exhilarating winter conditions.
The event features three distances: a 4-mile option for those looking for an easy introduction to trail running, a scenic 15K that winds through dense forests and along creek crossings, and the ultimate challenge of a grueling 30K trek across varied terrain with stunning bluff views.
Participants will enjoy aid stations stocked with water, Gatorade, Coke, as well as energy snacks like GU, pretzels, M&Ms, and granola bars. Each race concludes at the finish line where runners are greeted by delicious Marco's Pizza.
The course is designed to cater to both novice trail runners eager to build endurance through winter months and seasoned athletes looking for a competitive edge leading up to larger events such as HTC’s Mountain Mist 50K. The park’s unique setting provides runners with an unforgettable experience, from the crisp mountain air to the serene beauty of frozen waterfalls.
Registration is limited to just 400 participants, so secure your spot early and take advantage of packet pickup at RunningLane Store or on race morning before heading out for a day full of adventure. Don’t forget to bring your reusable cup to help reduce waste—RunningLane events proudly operate as "cupless races."
