Foothills 150

The Foothills Trail, spanning North and South Carolina’s rugged Blue Ridge foothills, is set to host its inaugural 150-mile ultramarathon on May 21, 2027. This epic journey follows a trail that has been meticulously restored after the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene in 2024.
Runners will embark from Table Rock State Park and traverse through Oconee State Park before returning to their starting point. The race offers both a full-length adventure for seasoned ultramarathoners (150 miles) and an accessible challenge for those eager to sample the trail's iconic beauty in its half-distance version (75 miles). Each participant is supported by eight aid stations equipped with essential supplies, ensuring that runners can focus on their journey through some of the Carolinas' most pristine natural landscapes.
The event not only celebrates endurance but also contributes to conservation efforts. A portion of every entry fee goes directly to the Foothills Trail Conservancy, aiding in the preservation and maintenance of this cherished trail.
Participants will enjoy a comprehensive support system including GPS tracking from Adventure Enablers, live updates for friends and family, and custom-designed awards for top performers across various categories. Camping is available at Table Rock State Park, though reservations are advised due to high demand.
The race requires all runners to carry mandatory safety gear throughout the event, ensuring everyone’s well-being while adhering strictly to Leave No Trace principles on shared public land. Pacers can accompany Foothills 150 participants from Oconee State Park onwards, enhancing both support and camaraderie during this monumental feat of endurance.
With a cut-off time of 55 hours for the full distance and 30 hours for the half-distance race, competitors are challenged to navigate through diverse terrains ranging from dense forests to open meadows.
