Folkestone Rotary Half Marathon

Set against the stunning backdrop of Folkestone's coastal promenade, the Folkestone Half Marathon & Junior Run offers runners an unforgettable experience on September 26, 2027. This accurately measured course starts outside The Grand hotel and takes participants through the scenic coastal park before heading out to Hythe for a brief out-and-back segment.
The event is renowned for its supportive community atmosphere and friendly vibe, making it ideal for both seasoned runners looking to achieve personal bests (PB) and newcomers stepping into longer distance races. While most of the route follows a relatively flat promenade that offers PB potential, there are slight inclines that add an element of challenge.
Participants will be treated to breathtaking coastal views throughout their run, enhancing the overall experience with stunning scenery and fresh sea air. The race is also notable for its bespoke medals awarded to all finishers, as well as trophies and cash prizes for top runners.
In addition to the competitive edge, this event supports a worthy cause through the Folkestone Rotary Club, which raises funds for local charities such as The Gurkha Memorial Fund. Runners who opt for the charity entry will contribute £5 towards these vital projects that address issues like health, education, and poverty in both the local community and internationally.
The race is perfect for those looking to train during autumn marathon season or simply enjoy a beautiful run with fellow enthusiasts. With its ideal blend of scenic beauty, friendly atmosphere, and competitive spirit, this half marathon promises an unforgettable day out on the coast.
