Firewater Ultra

The Firewater Trail Race Series returns to the East Lakeshore Trail along Tellico Reservoir for its 13th edition on October 23, 2027. This scenic trail system winds through lush forests and offers stunning views of the reservoir’s eastern shore. Participants can choose from four events: a full 100K loop, a challenging 50K with both sunrise and sunset start options, a relay race for teams to tackle together, or a unique rucking experience.
The 100K course spans the entire trail system twice, offering runners multiple aid stations along the way where crews can provide support. The 50K route starts at either end of the loop, allowing participants to enjoy the full length in one direction before turning back for home. For those who prefer a late start and an evening finish, the sunset option begins around mid-afternoon, ensuring runners catch breathtaking views as the sun sets over Tellico Lake.
The 50K Relay splits the distance evenly between two teammates, with each leg presenting distinct terrain challenges—less elevation in the first half followed by steep climbs on the return. The rucking event covers the second half of the 50K course, complete with a mandatory weight requirement for added challenge and camaraderie among fellow ruckers.
Register early to secure your spot and receive this year’s exclusive hoodie, which will be placed in order before October 8th. Detailed maps, aid station locations, and cutoff times are available online along with live tracking options so friends and family can follow runners’ progress throughout the race day.
