The marathon or half-marathon stage is a highlight, offering runners the rare opportunity to traverse icy trails and snow-covered paths in temperatures as low as -25°C (-13°F). This challenging race tests both physical stamina and mental fortitude. While timing is provided for those competing in the full marathon distance, other stages such as snowshoeing, back-country skiing, fat-biking, and husky-dog sledding are designed to be immersive experiences rather than formal races.
Throughout the event, participants stay in rustic wilderness cabins that offer a true taste of Lapland’s authentic way of life.
