Event # 3 Olympic Distance Triathlon

About the Event

On October 25, 2026, Busselton hosts the Olympic Distance Triathlon, welcoming athletes of all ages and skill levels. The main race starts at 7:00 AM for shorter distances including a 12-year-old plus category with a swim of 250 meters, followed by a bike ride of 7 kilometers, and concluding with a run of 2.5 kilometers. For the more experienced competitors aged 15 years and up, there's an Olympic distance race starting at 8:30 AM featuring a challenging 1500-meter swim, a grueling 40-kilometer bike ride, and wrapping up with a 10-kilometer run.
The event also features the TRYstars program for younger athletes aged between 5 to 12 years. This fun-filled category offers shorter distances tailored to each age group's capabilities, such as a U7s race with a 25-meter swim and a 1km bike ride followed by a short 250m run.
Participants are encouraged to arrive at least 20 minutes before their respective start times to register, set up equipment, and attend the briefing. The event requires basic triathlon gear: a bicycle, helmet, and running shoes for all categories.
Whether you're part of STANDARD Club Membership or choosing General Entry, Busselton ensures comprehensive insurance coverage during this exciting day of competition.

About Busselton

Scenic view of

Busselton is a city in the South West region of the state of Western Australia approximately 220 km (140 mi) south-west of Perth. Busselton has a long history as a popular holiday destination for Western Australians; however, the closure of the Busselton Port in 1972 and the contemporaneous establishment of the nearby Margaret River wine region have seen tourism become the dominant source of investment and development, supplemented by services and retail. The city is best known for the Busselton Jetty, the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere.
