Join us on November 26, 2026, as we kick off Thanksgiving with an inspiring morning of running and community spirit at the Annual Elk Grove Gobble Wobble 5K Run/Walk. This heartwarming tradition brings together runners and walkers alike for a day filled with family fun and fitness.
The event takes place at 8280 Longleaf Drive in Elk Grove, California, where participants can look forward to an early morning schedule packed with activities designed to energize the community. The festivities begin at 8:00 AM when registration opens along with vendor booths offering refreshments and a variety of merchandise. A lively Zumba warm-up session gets everyone moving before the race begins.
The day’s highlights include:
- National Anthem - At 8:55 AM, participants gather to honor our nation with the singing of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

- Kids' Fun Run - Starting at 9:00 AM, a non-timed quarter-mile fun run for children under ten sets an enthusiastic tone for the event.
- Main Race Start - The timed 5K race kicks off promptly at 9:15 AM. This scenic course winds through the heart of Elk Grove, offering runners and walkers breathtaking views and opportunities to showcase their skills on a flat terrain that is both challenging and enjoyable.
After crossing the finish line, participants can look forward to an array of post-race activities:
- Awards Ceremony - From 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM, medals are awarded to all race completers while snacks and music keep spirits high. Vendor booths remain open throughout this period.
For those who prefer flexibility or cannot join in person, the event offers a virtual option:
- Virtual Race - Participants can complete their 5K between November 20th and November 26th at any location they choose. Simply log your time using the IYR App to receive your completion certificate.
All proceeds from this year’s race will benefit Chicks in Crisis, a local organization dedicated to supporting families in need during difficult times. By participating, you not only challenge yourself physically but also contribute to making a positive impact within your community.
Registration fees vary based on timing and type of participation:
- In-Person Registration - Early bird specials are available through September 30th at discounted rates. A family four pack is offered until August 31st for $100.

- Virtual Race Entry Fee - For those choosing the virtual option, a flat fee of $40 covers all aspects of participation.
Packet pick-up options include Fleet Feet Elk Grove on Saturday, November 21st and Tuesday, November 24th at the Elk Grove Teen Center. Additional opportunities to collect your race materials are available on Wednesday, November 25th as well.
